Herschell Honing oil is used to lubricate the Knife blade and whet stone, speed up the sharpening process and maintain the sharpening efficiency of the whet stone. It has superior cooling properties and provides excellent surface finishes.
Whether sharpening by hand, guide or machine, Herschell Whet stone Honing oil will allow the swarf (Shavings) debrided from the blade to lift out and move away from the edge of the blade and the contact point on the whetstone.
Without lubricant the swarf eventually embeds itself in the whetstone, clogging it up and reducing its ability to sharpen.
High viscosity ensure that the Honing oil acts as a lubricant whilst sharpening, prevents the whetstone from clogging and protects the Blade and mechanisms against rust.
Can be used on Ferrous and Non Ferrous Metals.
